Pat Dubois spent twenty years in media and radio. He builds things now, with AI agents for a crew. The job, it turns out, is still the job.
For twenty years the work was radio: take a thing worth saying, say it plainly, and respect the audience enough to stop when it lands. Titles changed. That job description never did.
These days he builds. Software, mostly, made with a crew of AI agents that handle the syntax while he holds the intent. He calls his range diet technical, and he means it precisely: deep enough to ship, allergic to jargon.
The distance between the two careers is shorter than it looks. Radio was talking to people through machines. This is talking to machines on behalf of people. Either way the whole job is communication, and communication is the one thing he has done every working day of his life.*
